My Journey

My journey in fitness has taken me from the track to the therapy clinic to the coaching studio. Along the way, I’ve learned that movement isn’t just about performance—it’s about possibility. Every step of my path has shaped the way I help people discover their own strength, resilience, and potential.

  • My love for movement began in 4th grade, when I discovered track and field. Sprinting and jumping quickly became my passion, and that passion carried me all the way to competing at the collegiate level at San Francisco State University.
My main events were the 100 meters, 4x100 relay, long jump, and triple jump, with occasional stints in the 200 meters and 4x400 relay.

Track & field taught me more than just how to run fast or jump far—it showed me what I was truly capable of, both physically and mentally. My coaches challenged me to push past my limits, and in doing so, I learned the power of resilience, discipline, and untapped potential.
Those lessons carried forward into my coaching career. Just as I once broke through barriers I thought were impossible, I now help my clients do the same. When they believe they can’t go further, I remind them of the strength they still have—and every time, they prove themselves right by succeeding.

  • After graduating with my degree in Exercise Science, I worked as a Physical Therapy Aide with the intention of pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. At a local practice in Long Beach, I had the privilege of working directly with patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain.

From knees to shoulders, backs to balance issues, I learned how to support a wide range of needs. I administered treatment modalities like ultrasound and electrical stimulation, but I especially loved guiding patients through their rehabilitative exercises.

That experience gave me invaluable skills—an eye for movement, patience with limitations, and an understanding of how to adapt exercise to meet someone exactly where they are. These lessons became the foundation for the way I now work with clients of all ages, especially those navigating pain, injury, or physical limitations.

  • While still in college, I began personal training at a local private studio. It started as a part-time job, but it quickly became a calling. I learned how to train clients effectively, observe and correct form, and truly listen to their needs. My background as an athlete gave me the ability to push people past their comfort zones, helping them gain not just physical results, but also confidence and mental toughness.

Over the years, my career evolved into something much deeper than traditional personal training. My experience in physical therapy allowed me to specialize in working with clients who had limitations—particularly older adults.

Today, with over 26 years of experience, I’ve built my practice around helping people move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives. Along the way, I’ve expanded my knowledge with certifications in:

    • Functional Range Conditioning (FRC): to improve mobility, joint health, and long-term movement quality.

    • Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Master Practitioner: to support mindset shifts and lasting behavior change.

I am a lifelong learner, always seeking new ways to better serve my clients. For me, coaching is about so much more than exercise—it’s about helping people unlock their full potential, just as I learned to unlock mine.
